Cerium is a chemical element with symbol Ce, atomic number 58, and possesses a silvery-white appearance. It is the most abundant of the rare earth metals and is found in the minerals allanite, bastnasite, hydroxlbastnasite, monazite, rhabdophane, synchysite, and zircon. Cerium can be used for fuel cell functions, removing ultrafine diesel particle emissions, steel manufacturing, glass polishing agent, and decorating glass.
